Why we support Harborlight Homes: A Note from Gus Serino and Danielle Ledoux

Harborlight Homes is a top-notch organization founded on the principle of the importance of home in the lives of people.  Danielle and I both grew up in this community, and we’ve seen firsthand how much it has changed over the years.  We know that those who have lived here their whole lives or work here should still be able to make the North Shore their home. Since 2018, we have financially supported Harborlight Homes because their mission resonates with us, and we believe they are making a large impact on people’s lives. The organization is not just building housing; they are creating opportunity and stability as well as ensuring dignity for people who might otherwise be priced out of the north shore of Massachusetts.

When we toured the Hardy Street project in Beverly during construction in 2020, we were so impressed, not only by the quality of the work being done during such a challenging time, but also by the vision and caring that drove the Harborlight team. Today, with the cost of living and everyday necessities climbing higher, the need for organizations like Harborlight Homes has only grown. Too many seniors on fixed incomes are struggling to stay in their communities. Too many single parents or families are working tirelessly just to make ends meet, with little option to live close to where they work.  And too many individuals facing personal challenges are doing their best without the stability of a decent home. We’re proud to support their mission and encourage others to join us, because when everyone has a safe, affordable place to live, our whole community is stronger.
