Shelter Fest raises funds, awareness

Categories:

BEVERLY – An all-day music festival Saturday in downtown Beverly raised money and awareness for the Harborlight Community Partners, North Shore’s largest affordable housing provider and advocacy group.

The headliner for North Shore Shelter Fest was the Evan Goodrow Band.

Goodrow is a singer-songwriter-guitarist who performs locally, nationally and internationally. He has released 11 studio albums and three live albums of soul, funk, blues, rock, and R&B. A Boston native, Goodrow got his start playing jazz guitar and singing acoustic folk music in coffee houses, more than a decade ago.

Other bands performing were Beverly based Dreamtigers, which blend of indie rock from their 2014 album “Wishing Well” and other original material.

Hailing from nearby Boxford and Ipswich, The Band Next Door delivered a fun set of rock and soul.

The popular North Shore band Sweet Escape brought their mix of originals and covers that blend the essence of classic-rock favorites with inspiration from some of America’s finest woman-fronted country rock and straight-ahead guitar-driven sounds.

Liberte is a singer songwriter from Massachusetts whose music spans from Americana to alternative.

The day’s performances also included a set from local music talent Sarah Schuyler and violinist, vocalist and songwriter Aisha Burns.
